Cecilia's first birthday

Aunt Molly looks like she's trying to hide.

Oh wait, no, there she is!

First visit to the Jersey Shore

This was actually a first for all of us. I've been to New Jersey only a handful of times since living in New York and never to the Jersey Shore. We visited the Iantoscas at their new house in Long Branch (also known as Bruce Springsteen country). As you can gather from the picture, we all went to the beach. Usually, the water in Atlantic Ocean beaches is fairly warm (warmer, at least, than water in beaches in the Pacific) but this time- and who knows why - the water was freezing. I couldn't make it past my ankles. Tony actually dove in completely; he lasted a full nanosecond. He dunked Ceci in up to her waist but that too was very very fast.

First Swing Ride

That's right. Cecilia's very first swing ride at the playground down the street from us (the one at the end of Pierrepont ... or maybe it's Montague Terrace). She handled it like a pro! She kept looking at the other kids on the swing- they were bigger and were getting pushed really really high. Next time Ceci.

Califrornia in June

We took a recent trip to California. Ceci sat on grass for the first time. She hated it at first but she seemed to get used to it after a couple of days. It's pretty surprising to realize that our little urban baby was afraid of grass!

Ceci also went swimming for the first time. She's wearing her new swim suit here. Grandma took most of the pictures at the pool except the one you see her in below. We also went to the botanical gardens in Palos Verdes. Some of the cacti there were huge! Tony and Ceci stood next to the plants to give you can get a sense of the scale.
